Redfrog Athletics was founded with a relentless sense of adventure and one goal: equip you with functional, stylish, dual-purpose cycling apparel, so you can feel confident and comfortable on and off your bicycle.
It all started a couple of years ago, when my best friend and I decided it would be a good idea to ride some bicycles across the country (even though we had very limited cycling experience). We bought some bikes, put some racks on them, loaded them up with camping gear, and then embarked on a 5,000 mile adventure zigzagging the country.
A few weeks into the trip, I realized that I absolutely loved cycling. I loved that it taught me my own strength. I loved that it was both fast and slow--new sights, places, and details.
My second realization on our trip? I strongly disliked traditional women’s cycling wear.
Cold, hot, varying levels of activity, we needed apparel that worked for every environment. On a mission, we broke ranks--searching, buying, and testing everything. The trip essentially served as an extreme user study for the clothes we bought. They simply didn’t work in every weather condition, and the fit was awful. Despite being “top-of-the-line,” the female cycling clothes were based off the male physique with “female elements” added as an afterthought.
I started to fill sketchbooks with all the features I would want in a perfect set of gear for all weather, look, and comfort.
How much more would I enjoy being on a bike if I actually felt comfortable, confident, and attractive? And what about off the bike...on the street...or in the office? By the time I got home, the vision just kept getting bigger--stylish, comfortable, functional cycling wear to empower women.
At Redfrog, it isn’t just about the clothes. We believe in balance — in health, relationships, and our well-being. And that balance should come across in the way that we look, feel, and perform.
We think that you should feel confident and comfortable no matter your shape or style or lifestyle. Athletic is attractive. Most of all, we want everyone to feed their free spirited souls--not just on a bike but in whatever they do in life.
